From blank page to fundable submission

Preparing your first major NIH grant application often feels isolating and overwhelming. In addition, most applicants don't realize that great science is not enough to land NIH funding; you need sophisticated, up-to-date grantsmanship strategies as well.

Master Your First R or K Series eliminates the guesswork. Originally built exclusively for premier research universities and medical centers to scale their faculty training, this guided program pairs our flagship courses with a deadline-driven roadmap and frequent live support from an NIH expert. It paces you week-by-week from initial preparation to submission, ensuring that your narrative sections meet current NIH trends and guidelines.

The result is a deep, enduring skillset in grantwriting and the ability to mentor others.

Unsure about whether to target an R or K Series?

Many early career investigators have difficulty determining whether they're better positioned for an R series mechanism (like the R01, R21, R03, R34, or R61/R33) or a mentored K award.

Master Your First R or K Series includes the full curriculum for both mechanisms. Our early preparation modules walk learners through assessing institutional support, preliminary data, and career stage to pinpoint the right mechanism. If an applicant's trajectory shifts during prep steps, the course materials pivot accordingly - no extra fees, no lost momentum.

What Our Clients Say

I really appreciated Meg's attention to detail when it came to the frequent NIH changes and how best to address them. The samples and general tips she gives for each section were also very helpful for seeing the diverse ways that can be used to optimally convey the message in the proposal.
